Abstract

This research paper examines the relationship between Business Intelligence (BI) dynamic capabilities and organisational competitive positioning in contemporary business environments. Drawing on dynamic capabilities theory, this study explores how organisations leverage BI systems as dynamic capabilities to sense opportunities, seize market advantages, and reconfigure their strategic positions. The analysis reveals that BI dynamic capabilities serve as critical enablers of competitive advantage through enhanced decision-making, operational efficiency, and strategic adaptability. Contemporary organisations increasingly recognise that the mere implementation of BI technology is insufficient; rather, the development of dynamic capabilities that enable effective BI utilisation determines competitive success. The findings suggest that organisations with well-developed BI dynamic capabilities demonstrate superior competitive positioning across multiple performance dimensions, including market responsiveness, innovation capacity, and strategic adaptation processes.
